Timo Makower

Timo is currently a student at Lancaster University, studying Ecology and Conservation. Working for PPL combines both his interest in improving sustainable use of plastics and his passion for spending time in the workshop. Timo spends most of his time working hands-on with the injection moulders and workshop equipment.

Support

PPL received start-up support from the Friends of Lancaster University's Alumni Fund,
Lancaster Royal Grammar School and private charitable donations.

Our Co-Directors drive the organisation at present, volunteering a lot of time and energy, but we've also been lucky enough to receive support from a few of Lancaster University's departments (Engineering, LPDU, as well as Green Lancaster and the Student's Union). In addition, we work with the amazing team at Lancaster University's Precious Plastic Society (LUPPS) who encourage students and local people to change their plastic consumption.

PPL is not a University project but an independent Community Interest Company (CIC - not-for-profit). Our workshop is in the city near Ashton Memorial. We have close links with other community groups such as Lancaster and Morecambe Maker's Space (LAMM), Morecambe's The Exchange, The National Festival of Making and more. We're also working and collaborating with local people and businesses such as So Soap Company in Heysham and Slithey Tove Design in Lancaster.
